F.B. Parrot How it works

As part of our ordinary operation, F.B. is operating a fleet of relays across many different locations. Our strongest presence is within a datacenter in the Netherlands.

Below you will find a detailed description of how F.B.P. works.

1.) From your origin server (or its firewall appliance), you build a connection to a pre-selected relay operated by F.B. The connection will be established using Wireguard VPN protocol.
2.) You will proceed with configuring your origin server to route back its response packets through the gateway of your connected relay's network. You can optionally also configure DNS to use our local resolver.
3.) You need to decide upfront which ports you want to expose, and also note down the internal address of your service within the VPN Network between origin and relay.
4.) Once your instance was activated by us, you will find the public IPv4/IPv6 Endpoint in the confirmation E-Mail. Clients will connect to your service through this address or a DNS record pointing to it.


Sensitive ports like SMTP (both in/out) might be blocked for new accounts. Additional exposure of ports must be approved manually, because there is no 1:1 NAT and that was an intentional design choice.
